Welcome everyone to Shotley Community Primary school’s website. We are very proud to introduce our wonderful school and share as much information as we can, to really give you a flavour of what we have to offer.

Shotley is a unique and beautiful school. Our community is driven in supporting the school to realise our vision to ‘Nurture a community of lifelong learners’. We are very passionate about sharing our learning journey together and encouraging everyone to take pleasure in the ‘Joy of not knowing!’ We aim to create a community of children who love and enjoy learning.

As a community school, this is at the heart of our offer. Relationships with parents and members of the local community are so important to us. We work hard to ensure we have plenty of opportunities to engage with the local community through local visits to the beach, the farm, church and encourage our parents to come in and see us for coffee mornings, assemblies and events or as volunteers.

We have a strong commitment to supporting children’s emotional health and wellbeing and have a dedicated inclusion team to support this. We are a ‘Thrive school’ allowing us to carefully monitor support required and offer bespoke interventions for children if required.

Here at Shotley, we are fortunate enough to be able to offer learning beyond the classroom in our wonderful outdoor spaces, including walking our school dog Darcie, petting the chickens or taking part in our Woodland school sessions- den building, wild play, pond dipping and so much more…
