Although, I have only been in post as the Executive Head at Shotley since the beginning of this academic year, it already feels like home - very different in some ways than my other large town centre school, but equally as welcoming and community focussed.

With equity at the heart of everything we do at both schools, we are focused on ensuring that every child we have the pleasure of teaching, receives opportunities to thrive and make the most of every second on their educational journey. But we understand that excellence is not just academic success.  It is our job to help all of our children find the confidence to express their thoughts, stand up for what is right and, through education, discover the knowledge and skills they need to make a positive difference in our ever changing world and in their community as a whole.

The school grounds and locality has so much to offer, and we endeavour to include as much of our outdoor environment and the community in our work.  It takes a village to raise a child and what better village than Shotley.
